No Big Deal

from Dogs May Bark by Seamus Anthony

about

Verging on the schmaltzy, I admit, this is still one of my faves in part due to the documentary nature of what the female-lead said to me (weird huh?) and in part due to the way it manages to capture that wonderful, romantic moment when you know the stars have aligned and you are about to get some...

And yes, it did all end in tears ... of course ...

lyrics

No Big Deal

By Seamus Anthony

She lay back on that couch,
In a way that only she knows how.
She stretched out along that lounge,
And said "Hey boy, what are you gonna do with me now?"

"Are you gonna put me in a pumpkin,
Nestled in the V of a tree,
With a genie-sofa and a window all around,
So that I can lounge around all day with thee?"

And I said "Yes I am,
Yes I can,
'Cos you are Perfect Love ... and so am I."

Perfect Love,
You can't make demands of it.
You can't clutch with jealous hands at it,
'Cos it's slippery like an eel.
Perfect Love,
The little child inside of everyone,
Six billion hands upon the spirit drum,
With a smooth and funky feel.

It's what you feel when you're having fun.
It's what you feel when you're struck dumb.
And it's no big deal,
But she's the seas, the earth, the trees,
The sky, the breeze,
The moon, the stars, the sun.

And I said "Yes I am,
And yes I can,
'Cos you are Perfect Love ... and so am I ...
